On April 17, 1975, the Khmer Rouge entered Phnom Penh. The war was over but instead of celebrating the end of the conflict, all citizens of the capital were ordered to evacuate from their homes. "End/Beginning—Cambodia" traces the harrowing escape of Dr. Sophal Ear’s family from the Khmer Rouge regime. The film won the Gold World Medal at the 55th New York Festivals. Dr. Ear, who is also the writer and narrator of the film, will be present for discussion and Q&A after the screening.
